Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – A Jonesboro sex offender is behind bars on a $100,000 cash/surety bond after police said he failed to comply with reporting requirements.

Court records show that on Aug. 14, 2018, 28-year-old Devonteze Keuntle Harrison was convicted of second-degree sexual assault. As a result, he was required to register as a sex offender.

Harrison was assessed by the Sex Offender Community Notification Assessment (SOCNA) on Jan 31, 2019, and assigned a Level 2 (moderate risk).

According to a probable cause affidavit, on May 22, Harrison was released from the Arkansas Department of Corrections and provided an address in the 300 block of State Street in Jonesboro on his Sex Offender Change of Information Form.

Four days later, Harrison obtained his state driver’s license and provided an address in the 600 block of East Roseclair Street.

State law requires registered offenders to report any changes to their home/mailing address, or temporary domicile, no later than five days before establishing that address as their location.

On May 29, Harrison became delinquent on his required registration and had not attempted to contact the appropriate agency to complete it.

On June 9, a warrant for Harrison’s arrest was issued, and a day later, he was arrested.

Harrison appeared before District Judge David Boling on June 12. Boling found probable cause to charge Harrison with a Class C felony: Failure to register – failure to comply with reporting requirements.

Harrison’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 30. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison and fines up to $10,000.
