Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – A Jonesboro man is being held on a $500,000 cash/surety bond after police said he confessed to sexually assaulting a victim in their bedroom.
According to a probable cause affidavit, on Oct. 11, Jonesboro police were dispatched to an address for a sexual assault that occurred. In a forensic interview, the victim told police that they would observe 38-year-old Cetrick Deshawn Crockett looking at them in a sexual manner when wearing shorts. On several occasions, the victim said that Crockett would come into their bedroom at night, and the victim would pretend to stay asleep when Crockett sexually assaulted them.
During a post-polygraph interview, police said Crockett became very emotional and kept changing his account of the events surrounding the allegations. Eventually, he admitted to sexually assaulting the victim and said he would never do it again.
Police arrested Crockett Dec. 8, according to the online jail roster. During his hearing the following Wednesday, District Judge David Boling found probable cause to charge Crockett with rape.
At the hearing, Crockett was accompanied by attorney Jimmylee Hood, who argued that his client should receive a $25,000 cash/surety bond. He explained that Crockett has significant ties to the community. He also argued that, while Crockett does have a criminal history, there was no evidence of any Failure to Appear (FTA) charges on those cases during the five years he has lived in Jonesboro or from his previous address in Trumann.
However, Boling noted that Crockett is on a suspended sentence and had been convicted of two third-degree battery charges and a single second-degree battery charge. It was also said that he had previously violated a no-contact order.
Crockett was ultimately given a $500,000 bond due to the nature of the charges. Boling also ordered Crockett to wear a GPS ankle monitor upon release.
Crockett’s next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 23, 2026.
