The opposition moved ahead 1-0 in the second minute and held the advantage for the remainder of the first half. A-State’s lone chance to counter occurred on Windsor’s shot in the 24th minute, but a save by the Eagles’ Quinn Wilson thwarted the effort.

Georgia Southern extended the deficit in the 58th minute and added another goal in the 86th to reach the final score of 3-0. Prior to the third goal, Tapley attempted to cut the deficit in half at the 79:11 mark. The shot could not get past the goalkeeper, and the Red Wolves would take one more shot beyond that point.
