Troy, AL – (Contributed) – Arkansas State’s (14-4, 5-1 SBC) 12-game win streak ends in the 86-64 loss to Troy (13-3, 4-1 SBC) on Saturday afternoon at Trojan Arena.

Arkansas State shot for 31 percent (25-80), the second-lowest figure this season, only hitting 23 percent (9-of-39) from beyond the arc. Troy landed 48 percent (32-of-66) of their shots, and out-rebounded A-State 56 to 35. Crislyn Rose led the Red Wolves with 19 points and six assists, with Wynter Rogers pulling down 7 rebounds.

Both squads began with a lightning-fast pace, with an 8-8 tied game less than 2 minutes in. Back-to-back threes for the Trojans instituted a two-score lead, one that Troy expanded through the rest of the period before layups from Rose and Zyion Shannon set the first quarter score at 27-20.

A-State was held to 17 percent shooting (3-of-17) in the second quarter compared to Troy’s 41 percent shooting (7-of-17). The Trojans doubled the lead to 16 by halftime, with Arkansas State falling silent for over three minutes heading into halftime.

The Red Wolves were unable to whittle down the deficit in the third quarter, with Troy engaging a 12-0 run to take a 68-44 lead with 10 minutes remaining. A set of Mia Tarver threes in the fourth-quarter efforts but the buzzer sounded with a 22-point Trojan lead.
