Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – City Water and Light (CWL) of Jonesboro is warning residents of a phone call scam in which callers pretend to be CWL representatives.

Nate Schimmel, administrative services director at CWL, said the scams involve callers offering customers a discount on their bills.

“In order to receive the discount, they needed to provide card information or bank information,” Schimmel said. “When customers refuse to do that, they were told that failure to do so could result in an amount being added to their bill.”
