Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – A Bono woman is being held on a $100,000 cash or surety bond after a domestic disturbance involving a box cutter led police to discover methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in her home.

On March 16, Craighead County deputies responded to a disturbance in progress at an apartment in the 100 block of School Street. Upon arrival, they made contact with 43-year-old Virginia Lynn Hunter and a male household member.

According to the probable cause affidavit, deputies learned that Hunter had become upset with the man and chased him out of the residence with a box cutter. Because officers knew Hunter to be on felony probation, they conducted a search of the home and uncovered the following items:

  • 7.8 grams of marijuana
  • 2.7 grams of meth
  • Marijuana pipes
  • Needles
  • A glass pipe used for smoking or ingesting meth

Online jail records indicate deputies officially arrested Hunter at 3:45 a.m. on Monday, March 16.

Hunter appeared later that day before District Judge Tommy Fowler, who found probable cause to formally charge her with multiple offenses, including:

  • Possession of meth or cocaine greater than 2 grams but less than 10 grams (Class B felony)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia (Class D felony)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor)
  • Possession of a Schedule VI substance less than four ounces (Class A misdemeanor)
  • Third-degree assault on a family or household member (Class C misdemeanor)

In addition to setting the $100,000 bond, Judge Fowler ordered Hunter to have no contact with the victim.

Hunter is scheduled to return to court on April 23. If convicted, she faces up to 28 years in prison and fines of up to $30,000.
