Downtown Jonesboro road to be closed Friday for Downtown Block Party

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept. 11, 2025 – A temporary road closure will be in effect on Friday for the Downtown Block Party.

According to a Facebook post from the City of Jonesboro, Main Street from Huntington Avenue to Cate Avenue will be closed Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

It said Huntington and Cate Avenues would remain open and passable.

The Downtown Block Party is in honor of the A-State vs. Iowa State game to be held on Saturday at Centennial Bank Stadium.

“We had so much fun at Paint The Town Red, let’s do it again,” the event’s preview on the Jonesboro Tourism and Visitors website read. “We’re shutting down Downtown Jonesboro for the Great A-State Block Party!”

The A-State Pep Band, live music, yard games and more will be present at the block party, which is free and open to the public. It will be from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Gates for Saturday’s game open at 1 p.m. The first 2,500 fans will receive a St. Bernards-branded “bang a banner” which are available at Gates W2, E1, and E2.

The Sound of the Natural State will begin its pregame show at 2:49 p.m., and Howl will lead the Red Wolves onto the field at 3:01 p.m. Kickoff will be at 3:05 p.m.
