Early morning accident on I-555 results in pedestrian fatality

Poinsett County, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – According to a preliminary crash report from the Arkansas State Police, a pedestrian was struck and killed on the interstate between Bay and Trumann.

Jared Smith, 29, Trumann, was standing in the northbound lane of I-555 due to a previous crash, when he was hit by a 2003 Dodge Ram. ASP did not identify the driver of the Ram.

The accident occurred at the 30-mile marker in Poinsett County at 5:43 a.m. on Thursday morning.
