Former Hardy Police Chief Found Guilty on All Charges

Hardy, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – A Sharp County jury has returned guilty verdicts against former Hardy Police Chief Scott Rose, according to the court clerk assigned to the trial.

The jury reached its decision around 5:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, finding Rose guilty of second-degree sexual assault and knowingly furnishing alcohol to a minor.

According to Attorney Zach Morrison, the jury handed down the following sentence:

  • Second-degree sexual assault – $15,000 fine only
  • Furnishing alcohol to a minor – One year in the county jail and a $2,500 fine

Rose will also be required to registered as a sex offender.

The conviction concludes a high-profile case that began with a multi-agency investigation in spring 2025. The investigation, which included the FBI, Homeland Security, and Arkansas State Police, was initiated after the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office received allegations of abuse.
