Habitat for Humanity forecloses one of its own houses

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – April 17, 2024 – Habitat for Humanity of Greater Jonesboro Inc. foreclosed on one of its homeowners after she stopped paying the mortgage on it, according to court documents.

Asia C. Adamson signed a promissory note on June 15, 2022, for the house on Phillip Evans Parkway in Jonesboro. She agreed to pay $296.29 a month for 30 years for the property.

Habitat for Humanity filed a lawsuit to foreclose on the property in February. Adamson owes $4,902.77 in payments for the house, documents show.

Craighead County Circuit Judge Richard Lusby on Monday, April 15, ruled in favor of Habitat for Humanity.

Also on Monday, a Notice of Commissioner’s Sale was released by Craighead County Circuit Clerk David Vaughn to sell Adamson’s house at auction on May 7 at the front door of the Craighead County Courthouse at the intersection of West Washington Avenue and South Main Street.
