Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – A Jonesboro-based art league is hosting an art sale ahead of Mother’s Day.

Hosted by the Northeast Arkansas Visual Arts League (NEAVAL), the show will feature around 20 local artist vendors selling paintings, pottery, photography, floral art, jewelry, and baked goods. Live art demonstrations will also be at the event. It is one of four art shows NEAVAL hosts each year.

“There are so many local artists that are so talented,” said Sherry Ellis, with publicity and promotions for NEAVAL. “You would have to come in and look just to see the variety.”

NEAVAL is a group of local artists who meet monthly, host art workshops, and exhibit their work locally.

While no more vendors can sign up for the event, Trisha Gooch, NEAVAL president, said those wanting to be on the sale’s waitlist can email neavalart@gmail.com.

The sale is set for Saturday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Harlan Henry Senior Center, located at 1210 S. Church St. Ellis noted that some vendors may only accept cash, so community members should bring cash in addition to debit and/or credit cards.

“The public in Jonesboro needs to realize how many talented people there are,” Ellis said. “If you’re wanting a unique gift or something unique in your home, I would encourage you to come and see what is available. I think you would be really surprised.”
