Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Oct. 11, 2024 – A man was charged with rape Friday.

Jonesboro police responded to a sexual assault Sept. 4. The victim told officers she’d had dreams of being inappropriately touched by her stepfather, 38-year-old Paul Jenkins.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim’s mother found sexually explicit photos on Jenkins’s phone of another woman on Sept. 3. Later that day, Jenkins spoke to the victim privately and reportedly told her the photos were of her, which the victim confirmed when she saw them.

In an interview with Jonesboro police officers Sept. 6, the victim said she went to sleep on her couch and that she was wearing a nightgown and shorts. When she woke up, her shorts were no longer on.

The victim said she didn’t know anything had happened because she was taking sleeping medication. She provided officers with the photos Jenkins had taken during the incident and added that she and Jenkins have never had a consensual sexual relationship.

Jenkins was arrested Sept. 9 and is being held at the Craighead County Detention Center.

Jenkins is charged with one count of rape and one count of video voyeurism. He was given a court date of Nov. 14 at 8:30 a.m. and a bond of $200,000 c/s.
