Jonesboro Man Dead After Wednesday’s Fatal Crash on U.S. 49

Craighead County, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – A Jonesboro man is dead after a crash that occurred on U.S. 49 Wednesday afternoon.

According to a preliminary fatal crash report from Arkansas State Police, 41-year-old Taylor Dobbins, of Jonesboro, died. He was heading west on U.S. 49 when his vehicle hydroplaned and hit a 2025 Nissan Rogue driven by 44-year-old Penny Spaulding of Jonesboro, who was taken to St. Bernards Regional Medical Center.

The report said Dobbins’ vehicle left the roadway and overturned, and two other vehicles, a 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer and a 2025 Ram 1500 headed east hit debris left in the road by the first crash.

The crash occurred Wednesday at 2:13 p.m. The report described the road conditions as wet, and that it was raining.
