Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – Residents will notice a sea of red, white, and blue lining the streets of Jonesboro on Monday, May 25, in recognition of Memorial Day. Local businesses and offices will display the American flag during daylight hours as part of a long-standing tradition.

The display is a signature community service project spearheaded by the Jonesboro University Heights (JUH) Lions Club. At least ten times a year, dedicated club members install and take down the flags on major national holidays and significant occasions, including Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day.

To ensure the flags’ preservation, the display is weather-dependent. The flags will be flown provided the local forecast predicts less than a 50% chance of rain.

The JUH Lions Club offers local businesses a seamless way to participate in this patriotic display. For a fee of $50 per year, the club provides:

  • The American flag
  • The flagpole
  • The mounting bracket
  • Complete installation and removal service for at least 10 holidays a year

Business owners interested in securing a flag contract or obtaining additional details can contact the project organizers. Inquiries may be directed to Flag Committee Chairman Pat Snodgrass at (870) 761-0132, or to any active JUH Lions Club member.
