Lake City, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – A man is facing a felony charge after law enforcement said he entered a Craighead County home and repeatedly asked two victims to perform sexual acts.

According to a probable cause affidavit, on Oct. 2, police interviewed two victims about a sexual assault case in Lake City. The first victim said Owen Slater came to their home late one night and asked them to perform a sexual act on him. They refused and told him to leave, but Slater kept asking them, at one point placing the victim’s hand on his exposed genitals. The victim refused again.

The affidavit said the victim could not walk and was over the age of 70 at the time of the incident.

Eventually, Slater gave up and left the first victim’s bedroom. The affidavit said the second victim woke up to Slater asking them to perform a sexual act on him. They also refused and told him to get out, to which he did.

Slater was eventually arrested and taken to the Craighead County Detention Center.

On Oct. 27, Slater appeared before District Judge Tommy Fowler, who found probable cause to charge him with second-degree sexual assault. As there was no public defender present, Fowler gave Slater an OR bond due to a medical condition Slater had and having appeared in court on time. Slater was also ordered to have no contact with the victims and must wear a GPS ankle monitor.

Slater is scheduled to appear back in court on Dec. 18.

If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic/sexual violence, call 800-656-HOPE (4673) to reach the National Sexual Assault Hotline.
