Man dead after altercation at Walnut Ridge restaurant

Walnut Ridge, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Walnut Ridge Police are investigating an altercation at a private club pizza restaurant that resulted in one man dead and another man in custody.

According to a press release issued by the Walnut Ridge Police Department, officers were called to the Main Street Pizza restaurant around 10:47 pm Friday about an “unresponsive man in a parking lot following a reported physical altercation.’

Officers found the unresponsive male in the rear parking lot of the pizza restaurant. According to the release, Sergeant Aaron Moore “immediately initiated CPR with the assistance of a good Samaritan.” The man was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to the release.

Walnut Ridge Police have a suspect in custody. “To preserve the integrity of the investigation, no names or additional details will be released at this time,” the release said. JonesboroRightNow is aware that names of both the deceased and the suspect have been mentioned on social media.

WRPD is asking for assistance from anyone who may have witnessed the altercation. Anyone who was present at Main Street Pizza on January 16, 2026, prior to or during the incident, and who may have witnessed anything, regardless of how minor it may seem, is asked to contact Sergeant Aaron Moore via email at: amoore@cityofwalnutridge.org.
