Jonesboro, AR – Contributed – Seven Recovery at Sanctuary Church announced that Beverly Vance Aikins, mother of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and a nationally recognized recovery advocate, will speak at a special recovery service on Friday, July 31, at 6:30 p.m.

Aikins will share her testimony, not from a place of politics or spotlight, but from the real and human places of struggle, forgiveness, rebuilding relationships, and learning to live with hope again.

“What an amazing thing it is to see a testimony of recovery,” said Kenneth O’Connell, pastor of Sanctuary Church. “At Seven Recovery at Sanctuary, we believe in restoration. Beverly’s journey is a reminder to all of us that real change is possible when we look to Jesus!”

For many years, Aikins struggled with addiction to prescription pain medication, which later led to harder substances. Her story is one understood by many American families—pain, coping, and a slow slide into dependency that felt impossible to escape. But with faith, community, and the determination to live differently, Aikins entered recovery and rebuilt her life one courageous step at a time.

Today, Aikins speaks to recovery groups, churches, women’s ministries, treatment centers, and community organizations across the country. Her message is clear: no one is too far gone, and every life is worth restoring.

“We are truly honored to welcome Beverly Vance Aikins, mother of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, to Seven Recovery for a very special evening. Every person has a story, and every story matters,” said Tim Collums, Seven Recovery director. “We believe God can bring hope, healing, and purpose to any life, no matter the past. Seven Recovery is the recovery ministry of Sanctuary Church of Jonesboro. The ministry exists for anyone with hurts, habits, and hang-ups.

Seven meets on Tuesday evenings at Sanctuary Church, 3119 Rook Rd. in Jonesboro, beginning with a meal at 5:45 p.m., followed by a large group meeting at 6:30 p.m.
