Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug 5, 2024 – NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, the world’s largest generator of renewable energy from the wind and the sun, and a world leader in battery storage, has donated $50,000 to NEA Baptist’s Mobile Health Unit.

This donation will help fund the operations of the Mobile Health Unit as it makes stops across the region, bringing quality healthcare to uninsured and underinsured individuals in underserved areas in rural northeast Arkansas. The Mobile Health Unit will offer health care services such as screenings, immunizations, mammography and more. The unit will mobilize much needed services to rural communities where health care is not as easily accessible due to geographical or socioeconomic barriers.

“We are extremely grateful to NextEra Energy Resources for their generous support of the Mobile Health Unit. Their donation is truly an investment in the health of Arkansans, many of whom have limited or no access to care,” said Robbie Johnson, chief development officer for Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation. “This project would not have happened if it wasn’t for the gifts from our gracious donors who provide the funding to meet a growing need across rural Arkansas. On behalf the patients and families who will be helped by the Mobile Health Unit, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to NextEra Energy Resources for their gift and commitment to this project.”

“At NextEra Energy Resources, we are committed to investing in the economic growth, success and future of residents in communities we serve,” said Sydney Mace, senior project manager for NextEra Energy Resources. “We are very pleased to make this contribution to the Mobile Health Unit. We look forward to continuing to work with local communities and building renewable energy projects the state of Arkansas can be proud of.”

The Mobile Health Unit will be at the Manila Community Center on Friday, Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. as part of free community health screenings.

Since 2018, NextEra Energy Resources has invested approximately $529 million in Arkansas. The company’s subsidiaries own and operate three utility-scale solar energy centers in the state and have nine utility-scale solar projects in development.
