Paragould, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – A Paragould man is behind bars after police said he pointed a loaded rifle at three family members and threatened to kill someone during a domestic disturbance.
Danny Martin, 75, was arrested and booked into the Greene County Detention Center on Sept. 5, according to the inmate roster.
The probable cause affidavit said that day, Paragould police officers responded to a home on Michelle Drive for a disturbance involving a firearm.

Upon arrival, officers met with three adult victims, all of whom were established to be family members of Martin. The victims explained that Martin had punched one of them in the face during an argument. This victim told police that as he was being assaulted, he punched Martin back.
According to the affidavit, Martin went into a back room of the residence and loaded a rifle. The victim heard the rifle being “cocked” before Martin came out of the room, pointed the firearm at all three family members, and yelled that he was going to kill someone. All three got out of the house and made contact with law enforcement.
Officers noted blood on the victim’s face and chin from being struck during the incident. He denied being checked out by EMS at the scene. Officers also noted an injury to Martin’s face from the altercation. Martin was transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment, released as fit for jail, and then taken to the detention center.
District Judge Curtis Hill found probable cause to charge Martin with the following offenses:
- Three counts of aggravated assault on a family or household member (Class D felony).
- One count of terroristic threatening (Class D felony).
- One count of third-degree domestic battering (Class A misdemeanor).
Martin is being held on a $150,000 cash/surety bond. As conditions of his release, he must not have any contact with the victims involved in the case and is prohibited from possessing any weapons.
