The victims said they were traveling south on Vance Street when a grey SUV swerved into their lane and struck them head-on. Four adults and one child were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Investigators later identified the driver of the SUV as Greer. During a Mirandized interview with police on Oct. 22, Greer admitted to being in the accident and fleeing back to his home. He said he left the scene because “he was scared and panicked.”

Greer is facing a Class D felony charge for leaving the scene of an accident involving physical injury.

District Judge Curtis Hitt set Greer’s bond at $35,000 cash/surety. As a condition of his release, Greer is ordered to have no contact with the victims or witnesses in the case.
