Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug. 18, 2025 – Dogs and cats of all ages, breeds and sizes are available through area animal rescues and shelters, as well as opportunities to help homeless animals through foster programs, donations, and help with fundraisers and other family-friendly activities.

JRN has partnered with area animal shelters to present “Pets of the Week.” We will feature a handful of animals each week. If interested in adopting or volunteering with the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society, go to neahs.org.

Meet Heavenly: Heavenly is a 4-year, 4-month-old female domestic shorthair. She’s tabby and has been in the shelter for 19 weeks. She came in as a nursing mother and then nursed a foster litter for us after hers was weaned. She’s very affectionate and calm (and so is definitely a staff favorite!). Heavenly is microchipped, up to date on all of her vaccines, and ready for her furever home!

Meet Raymond: Raymond is a 2-year, 11-month-old male. He’s been in the shelter for 10 months and weighs 52 lbs. Raymond is neutered and up to date on all vaccines and preventatives. He’s heartworm negative and low maintenance, so he’s going to be the perfect addition to someone’s family.
