Jonesboro, AR – Contributed – Arkansas State (26-17, 10-11 SBC) clamped down on the Louisiana (25-18, 9-12 SBC) offense while striking a pair of multi-RBI homers for the 8-3 win Sunday afternoon at Tomlinson Stadium-Slayton Family Field.

Quiller led off the bottom of the first with a single, then was able to advance to second on an error, and made his way home on a pair of flyouts to give A-State the lead early.

Louisiana scored two in the third inning on a homer to left to flip the lead, then added another the next frame on a pair of errors. The A-State offense answered in the bottom of the frame, a pair of baserunners scoring to knot the game back up at three, one from a Lane Walton single, and the other from a fielder’s choice.

A-State mirrored the last inning in the fifth, putting a pair of baserunners on early, but departed from the last inning by scoring one on an RBI-groundout, then following it up with Cason Campbell’s seventh home run of the season to get the 6-3 lead.

Dylan Farley handled 5.1 innings on the mound in his 11th start of the season, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out one, outlasting the UL starter on the way to his seventh win of the season.

Evan Griffis turned on his eighth home run of the year with a two-run shot out of right field in the sixth inning.

Collin Maloney and Cooper Garrison combined for 3.2 innings, relenting three hits, no free passes, and three strikeouts to solidify the 8-2 win.
