Researcher to Speak to Jonesboro University Heights Lions Club

Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – A research agronomist will be speaking to the Jonesboro University Heights Lions Club at its upcoming Tuesday meeting.

Dr. Justin Chlapecka, an assistant professor of agronomy in the University of Arkansas’ Division of Agriculture, will speak. Agronomy is a branch of agriculture dealing with the production of field crops and soil management.

Chlapekca works in the Northeast Rice Research and Extension Center, which is located near Harrisburg and sits on 600 acres of land in Poinsett County. The center researches rice production practices that balance maximizing farm income while conserving natural resources.

The club will meet Tuesday, June 16 at 6:30 a.m. at the Eggsellent Café, located at 906 S. Caraway Road. Visitors are welcome.
