Sanders Announces Appointments, One from Jonesboro

Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Thursday announced appointments to various governing boards and commissions, with one of the appointees being from Jonesboro.

Abby Hackworth of Jonesboro was appointed to the State Board of Optometry. Her term expires April 26, 2028, and she replaces Mitchell Gentry.

The other appointees from across the state are below:

Arkansas Educational Television Commission

  • Jeremy Gillam, of Greenbrier, whose term expires March 23, 2034. Replaces Woody Freeman.
  • Kerri Taake, of Fort Smith, whose term expires March 23, 2028. Previously vacant position.

Arkansas Minority Health Commission

  • Wes Booker, of Maumelle, whose term expires Jan. 31, 2028. Reappointment.
  • LaTeasha Gaither-Davis, of Marion, whose term expires Jan. 31, 2028. Reappointment.
  • Jack Sisson, of Bentonville, whose term expires Jan. 31, 2027. Replaces Rhonda Mattox.
  • Leonard Williams, of Pine Bluff, whose term expires Jan. 31, 2028. Replaces Sedrick Rice.

Arkansas Rural Medical Practice Student Loan and Scholarship Board

  • Jeanine Andersson, of Little Rock, whose term expires Jan. 14, 2028. Replaces Amy Cahill.
  • Carey Antoon, of Little Rock, whose term expires Jan. 14, 2028. Replaces Brian Thomas. 
  • Ronald Robertson, of Little Rock, whose term expires Jan. 13, 2028. Previously vacant position.

Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy

  • Rodney Richmond, of Searcy, whose term expires June 30, 2032. Reappointment.

Board of Visitors of the School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts

  • Heather Clouse, of Fayetteville, whose term expires Jan. 14, 2031. Previously vacant position.
  • Jeffery Davidson, of Benton, whose term expires Jan. 14, 2032. Previously vacant position.
  • Sarah Moore, of Stuttgart, whose term expires Jan. 14, 2030. New Position.
  • Sara Walsh, of Little Rock, whose term expires Jan. 14, 2033. Replaces Marlene Battle.

Board of Visitors of the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College

  • Mark Bremer, of Benton, whose term expires July 1, 2033. Replaces Amy Pierce.
  • Rajesh Chokhani, of Little Rock, whose term expires July 1, 2031. Reappointment.
  • Jack Thomas, of Little Rock, whose term expires July 1, 2032. Replaces Raymond Long.

Governor’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition

  • Kayle Browning Conley, of Greenbrier, whose term expires Dec. 31, 2026. New Position.
  • Ante Jazic, of Little Rock, whose term expires Jan. 31, 2026. New Position.

State Board of Optometry

  • Vickie Burlsworth, of Harrison, whose term expires April 26, 2028. Replaces William White.
  • Joseph Sugg, of Heber Springs, whose term expires April 26, 2030. Replaces Beatrice Reed.

Tax Appeals Commission

  • Jonathan Camp, of Bryant, whose term expires June 30, 2031. Previously vacant position.
  • Joseph Sanford, of Rogers, designated to serve as chief of the commission. Term to expire June 30, 2034. Reappointment.

Chicot County Quorum Court

  • Terry Alpe, of Lake Village, to serve as Justice of the Peace for District 5. Term expires Dec. 31, 2026. Fulfills the remaining term of Dale Scrivner.

Greene County Quorum Court

  • Johanna Pillow, of Paragould, to serve as Justice of the Peace for District 4. Term expired Dec. 31, 2026. Fulfills the remaining term of Jonathon Davis.

Lonoke County Quorum Court

  • Elizabeth Anderson, of Scott, to serve as Justice of the Peace for District 10. Term expires Dec. 31, 2026. Fulfills the remaining term of Rose Bryant-Jones.

Pulaski County Quorum Court

  • Douglas House, of Sherwood, to serve as Justice of the Peace for District 13. Term expires Dec. 31, 2026. Fulfills the remaining term of Phil Stowers.

Saline County Quorum Court

  • Michael Davidson, of Alexander, to serve as Justice of the Peace for District 5. Term expires Dec. 31, 2026. Fulfills the remaining term of Justin Rue.
