Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – The winner for Jonesboro Right Now’s second birthday, $1,000 giveaway has been named!

Alicia Chambers is the winner of the giveaway. When she was notified that she won, Chambers laughed because she initially thought she was being lied to.

“I told her [JRN editor-in-chief Tarah Richardson] to shut up like twice. I thought she was kidding,” Chambers laughed.

Chambers said she will use part of the money to pay bills, but plans to put some toward a trip to California to see her son.

From April 2-7, readers scoured articles to find a hidden birthday cake that moved to a new story every day. Finding and clicking on the cake would enter readers in a drawing to win $1,000, with a new chance to win each day. Hints were included in JRN’s daily newsletters and on social media.

Chambers, who has been reading JRN since roughly around the time it launched, added that she only entered once, when she found the birthday cake hidden in a story about a day in the life of an Olivetan Benedictine Sister.

Thank you for joining the celebration, and congratulations again to Alicia Chambers!
