Lake City, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug 9, 2024 – An ambulance carrying a two-man crew was reportedly involved in a serious injury accident on Friday afternoon that resulted in all three occupants being airlifted.

The accident happened on Highway 18 and Highway 135 near Lake City.

Emerson Ambulance Service posted on their Facebook page just after noon that members of their crew had been involved in an accident.

Sources tell JRN that the two-man crew involved a man and a woman, one being an EMT and one a medic. Both were seriously injured in the accident, with the woman (driver) reportedly being stuck in the vehicle for over 30 minutes before being extricated.

Both members of the crew were airlifted due to their injuries.

The ambulance was carrying a patient who was reportedly in “non-emergency transport.” After the accident, the patient was also airlifted due to their serious injuries.

The second vehicle’s driver was transported to an area hospital via a separate ambulance.

The cause of the wreck is unknown at this time. Arkansas State Police are investigating.
