This is Ice T (like the rapper/actor, not the drink!). He came to the shelter a week ago as a welfare case. A good Samaritan found him injured and without owners. His leg was injured from being caught in a trap, but by the time he got to us, the site was already necrotic. One of our fill-in vets is a faculty member at the new A-State vet school performed Ice T’s amputation and after-care. He’s currently recovering well in our isolation building– he’s even strong enough to do some leash work with trainer Ben (of SNK9)! He’s very affectionate and is going to make someone an excellent family addition. Ice T is 2 1/2 years old, HW positive (for which we will treat), and a 49-pound lab mix. Anyone who is interested in adopting him or who would like to help with the costs of his medical care, can go to our website, www.neahs.org. There is a tab to direct you to the adoption information and another that directs you to the donation page. Supporters and potential adopters can also call the shelter (870) 932-5185 or email Darla at office@neahs.org.

‘Scary Movie’ tops box office, slaying ‘Masters of the Universe’ and adding to low-budget streak

The summer box office is booming — but not because of the usual suspects. After three weeks of indie horror dominance at the box office, the slasher spoof "Scary Movie" topped ticket sales with $55 million over the weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday, easily besting the far-from-mighty "Masters of the Universe."

Carolina trails Vegas in the Stanley Cup Final and has a big decision to make for Game 4

A sequence of events in a Stanley Cup Final that has gotten crazier by the minute has put the Carolina Hurricanes at a crossroads.
