He was a legit marine who served in Vietnam. He was a consultant for the movies “Apocalypse Now” and “The Boys From Company C” in the 70’s. But nobody really knew R. Lee Emery until his role as the hardcore Marine Drill Instructor in the movie “Full Metal Jacket”. Since then he has starred in other movies and TV shows as…well…a drill instructor. Today R.
