He was a legit marine who served in Vietnam. He was a consultant for the movies “Apocalypse Now” and “The Boys From Company C” in the 70’s. But nobody really knew R. Lee Emery until his role as the hardcore Marine Drill Instructor in the movie “Full Metal Jacket”. Since then he has starred in other movies and TV shows as…well…a drill instructor. Today R. Lee Emery celebrates his 72nd birthday. Check out just one of his amazing scenes from “Full Metal Jacket”. Remember this takes place in the 60’s when drill instructors where allowed to hit the worthless, no good, scumbag, maggot, new recruits. Happy Birthday to the world’s most hardcore drill instructor EVER! HOO RAH!!!
